Week August 29-September 2

Last week we learned about the letter Gg. One of the students brought in grapes for us to taste. Ask your child who was the only one who doesn’t like grapes in our classroom. We talked about how grapes were turned into raisins.  We finished with our graphing unit. We will be starting next week taking AR test. For this week’s sight words, we are just reviewing the sight words we learned so far. Orange is the only new sight word for this week. The school is still collecting can goods for our country store during the fall festival. Someone picks up the can goods every Friday, so if you have any cans you want to donate, send them in by Friday. Please send Box Tops in.

Sneak Peak for the week:

In reading, We will be learning how to state what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story. We also will be learning about the letter Hh. We will learn how to write the letter, the letter sound and what objects start with that letter. In math, we will be working on patterning. In science, we will be learning how to classify items by their materials such as medal, cloth, and paper. In social studies, we will be finishing up our unit on the rules of the school, classroom and community and what can happen if we don‘t follow them.

Reminders:

Tuesday and Thursday is our P.E days. Please make sure that your child wears tennis shoes those days.
