Week September 5-9

Last week we learned about the letter Hh. We started a new unit in math on patterning. The students used the Smart Board to copy and extend patterns. Since this week is a short week, we are just reviewing the sight words we learned so far. Homework will be put in the folders monthly. The students just have to complete that nights’ homework. Students are still allowed to bring in an item that begins with the letter Tt. The school is still collecting can goods for our country store during the fall festival. Someone picks up the can goods every Friday, so if you have any cans you want to donate, send them in by Friday. Please continue to send Box Tops in.

Sneak Peek for this week:

In reading, we will be learning how to state what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story. We also will be learning about the letter Tt. We will learn how to write the letter, the letter sound and what objects start with that letter. In math, we will still be working on patterning. We will be able to copy, extend and create a pattern. In science, we will be learning about matter. We will learn what matter is, how it feels, which matter is living and nonliving, and how matter moves. In social studies, we will be starting a new unit on Our Country. This week we will be discussing about the country we live in and where it is located on the map. We will also be discussing the Unites States’ symbols
